I’m trying to be intentional with play and have lately been enjoying downtime cooking more elaborate meals, learning the piano and shortening arms and legs at the sewing machine.

Why a website at all?
- My identity has always felt tricky to pin down for me. I have found that having a personal website that aims for conciseness forces me to consider that question in a helpful way.
- The statement of my identity at the top of this site appears a clear and confident description but it serves equally as a north star or a statement of intent for me to live by.
This site exists as a replacement for my previous site which was built on Wordpress (I will revive a static version of it one day and link it here for reference).
It is built with Astro because it is simple to use, extensible and lean (XXms load time compared with XXXXms for my old site).
- It is written in Astro, HTML, CSS, limited vanilla JS and markdown for copy.
- For now the copy is isolated from my personal notes but Astro is designed for seamless generation from markdown-based content which will make the site a joy to update.
I designed it using Affinity Designer 2.
The key colours are: #FC5E98, #3F051C and #F5F5F5.
The font is the Atkinson Hyperlegible Next font from the Braille Institute, because it is designed to be easy to read and I think it looks beautiful.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare.
My planning and notes were written with Obsidian.
